In the process, the franchise assured fans it may be able to recover from a litany of injuries so dense the most likely explanation is team owner Jimmy Haslam broke a mirror while walking a black cat under a ladder.
That primetime non-thriller set the stage for an 11-game Sunday slate that promises little drama. Sure, the Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans could put on a banger–or that game could be a showdown between one offense that cannot hold onto the ball and another that lost to the Jets in this, the year of our lord 2021. This weekend’s other likely close games involve teams scrapping at the fringes of the playoff race, which is great news if you enjoy drama and the Philadelphia Eagles but will likely be an ignorable Sunday afternoon for the casual NFL fan among us.
