NFL power rankings: How far have Rams fallen after loss to Saints?

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

It was just nine months ago that the Los Angeles Rams were Super Bowl champions. They were poised to make a run at repeating after signing Allen Robinson and Bobby Wagner, but this season has gone completely awry – to the point where they’re no longer even a top-20 team in the NFL.

At 3-7, the Rams are last in the NFC West and have some of the worst playoff odds in the league. In this week’s power rankings, Los Angeles dropped four more spots to a new season-low.

The Rams are currently ranked 24th in Touchdown Wire’s poll.

If Sean McVay has to rely on Bryce Perkins to move the offense, he will figure a way to make it happen. The problem is Los Angeles is running out of time for Perkins to learn by trial and error.

Matthew Stafford’s status is very much up in the air for not only this week, but potentially the rest of the season due to the Rams’ team-wide struggles. After being evaluated for a concussion twice in two weeks, it’s possible the Rams shut him down. And they probably should.

Technically, every team is still alive in the playoff race, but the Rams may need to win each of their last seven games to make the postseason. With the group they currently have, that simply isn’t going to happen.
