Patrick Mahomes wins NFL MVP Award for second time

Patrick Mahomes won a big award on Thursday, and now on to capturing the big game on Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback was named NFL Most Valuable Player at NFL Honors in Arizona. He bested Justin Jefferson of the Vikings, Joe Burrow of the Bengals, Josh Allen of the Bills, and Jalen Hurts of the Eagles.

Mahomes threw for a league-leading 5.250 yards and 41 touchdowns. It was his second time leading in passing yards and TDs, the first coming in 2018.

He led the Chiefs to a 14-3 record and the AFC West championship.

On Sunday, Mahomes will try and lead the Chiefs to a second Super Bowl championship.

This is Mahomes’ second NFL MVP Award. He won his first in 2018.
