NFL fans were pumped that the Raiders were selected for HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’

It really had to be the Raiders. Anything else would have been an enormous letdown.

The Raiders went into the offseason as one of the five eligible teams for the latest edition of HBO’s Hard Knocks. With the Giants, 49ers, Redskins and Lions among the other options, Oakland clearly presented NFL fans with the most drama and entertainment value.

Come Tuesday, those hopes were answered.

The Raiders announced on Twitter that they were officially slated to be featured on Hard Knocks. Jon Gruden, Antonio Brown, Vontaze Burfict, Derek Carr — it’s all happening. This was the teaser video that the team shared.

Dysfunction makes for compelling television, and the Raiders have plenty of that. Great call, everyone. This should be a must-watch season.
