NFL fans compared George Kittle to Gronk on this beastly TD catch

Poor Budda Baker.

The Arizona Cardinals safety was enjoying an impressive Thursday Night Football performance — until he ended up in a one-on-one matchup against San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle.

On a third-and-3 in the first quarter, Kittle lined up in the slot, and easily tossed aside Baker, who was in press coverage. Kittle was then wide open in the middle of the field, where he caught the ball and broke a tackle. Baker recovered and attempted to tackle Kittle, but the tight end threw the safety to the ground with a nasty stiff-arm. Kittle finished the play in the end zone for a 30-yard touchdown. It was an impressive display of all-around dominance with a physical release and a powerful run.

Kittle’s dominance was so impressive that NFL fans and media members couldn’t help but compare him to retired tight end Rob Gronkowski. Kittle even did the Gronk spike to celebrate the touchdown.

Here’s a look at what folks were saying on Twitter immediately after Kittle scored the beastly touchdown.
