NFL Draft: Where did every Michigan State player end up?

We are now one week removed from the 2019 NFL Draft, and a few Michigan State players were either drafted or signed after the draft. Here is a recap of every player and their new home:

Justin Layne, CB, Pittsburgh Steelers, Third Round

Layne slid further than expected in the draft. Originally tagged as a second-round pick, it was shocking to see him slide to the middle of the third round. However, he ended up at a team where he has a good chance to start at the top of the depth chart for his position. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Layne with the #83 overall pick and he will fit well there.

Khari Willis, S, Indianapolis Colts, Fourth Round

Michigan State co-captain and hard-hitting safety Khari Willis was a bit of a wild card in the draft, but the Indianapolis Colts eventually traded up to draft him in the fourth round, #109 overall.

Willis will join fellow Big Ten safety Malik Hooker to form an intimidating defensive backfield for the Colts.

Felton Davis III, WR, Kansas City Chiefs, UDFA

Not surprisingly after his injury, Felton Davis went undrafted but was quickly signed by a loaded Kansas City Chiefs team who are in desperate need of wide receiver help.

Andrew Dowell, LB, Dallas Cowboys, UDFA

This is a player who I think was slept on a little bit in the draft process. A versatile, productive player, Dowell will be joining a stacked Cowboys defense led by coach Rod Marinelli.

LJ Scott, RB, Baltimore Ravens, UDFA

I kind of thought LJ Scott would go undrafted, but I’m a little baffled on how he chose to go to the Ravens. I think he will be a solid running back, but he will have to work his way through a crowded depth chart in Baltimore in order to get the opportunity to prove it.

Matt Sokol, TE, Los Angeles Chargers, UDFA

I think Matt Sokol will stick in the pros, and he’s heading to a solid team in the Chargers. I think Matt was hurt a little by the Spartans weakened passing offense but has a chance to emerge at the next level.
