NFC East news: Eagles to face Case Keenum in season opener vs. Redskins

The Philadelphia Eagles will open up the season against the Washington Redskins two weeks from today and they face a familiar foe at quarterback. Mike Garafalo is reporting that Jay Gruden has named Case Keenum the Redskins starting quarterback.

The future of the franchise is Dwayne Haskins, the first-round selection out of Ohio State. With Colt McCoy still recovering from an ankle injury suffered last season, the Redskins will be patient with Haskins, who has the higher ceiling but simply isn’t ready yet.
