Newlyweds pick Ant and Dec's 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble' for their first dance

A groom and his new wife shocked wedding guests by performing cult classic 'Let's Get Ready To Rhumble' by PJ and Duncan during their first dance.

The couple decided to do things a little differently when it came to their big day in Lake Como, Italy.

Footage of their first dance shows the newlyweds gazing lovingly into each other's eyes while swaying to John Legend's hit All Of Me.

They then feign surprise as the music cuts out halfway through their dance and plays Ant and Dec's famous 1994 track.

Other members of the wedding party then join in on the flash mob, the Daily Record reported .

Scot Michael Goodfellow, 32, and Lauren, 29, first met in 2013 at Glasgow's Duke of Wellington statue where he proposed six years later.

Bride Lauren, who is originally from Newcastle but now lives in Glasgow, explained that she and her Scots husband wanted to bring a Scottish and Geordie flavour to their wedding.

She had earlier walked down the isle to the Proclaimers' 500 Miles, and Let's Get Ready to Rhumble was picked as first dance in homage to her Newcastle roots.

She said: "As half of the wedding party were Scottish and half were Geordie, we thought it would be good to combine the two.

"I walked down the aisle to The Proclaimers' 500 miles, sang beautifully by my best friend, and decided PJ and Duncan should be our first dance.

"We watched the moves on their video and tried to practice for a few weeks.

"We got my friends involved but they live all over the country, so that was actually our first time doing it together!

"It was great fun and added to such a beautiful day in Lake Como."

The routine was captured on film by Lauren and Michael's videographer Cue The Mustard .

Let's Get Ready to Rhumble was released by a youthful Ant and Dec when they were known as PJ and Duncan - the names of the characters they portrayed as youngsters in TV show Byker Grove.

It went on to become something of a cult classic thanks to the music video's iconic dance routine.

Lauren hopes Ant and Dec will be impressed with their effort if it reaches them.

She added: "I hope they love it!

"They seem up for a laugh so I'm sure they'd appreciate the effort and the fun, rather than our dance moves and mistakes."
