Newcastle United youngster goes on trial with Championship side Blackpool

Newcastle United midfielder Mo Sangare appeared on trial with Championship side Blackpool this afternoon for their Lancashire Senior Cup clash with Liverpool. That's according to LancsLive, who claim the 23-year-old could be on his way out of St James' Park in the summer when he contract is set to expire.

The Liberian international could not do much to stop a rampant Liverpool side run out 4-1 winners. The young reds' U23's scored three first-half goals before the Seasiders turned in an improved second-half performance.

The report claims central midfield is an area Neil Critchley's side will look to bolster after approaches for Oliver Norburn and Cameron Brannagan were rebuffed in January. Sangare's future looks set to be away from Tyneside given the approval to send him on trial.

The midfielder spent the 2020-21 season on loan with League One side Accrington Stanley but hasn't been able to force his way into the Magpies first team set-up.

The 6ft 3in midfielder impressed greatly when joining United in 2016 after being spotted playing seven-a-side in the Manchester area by Steve Nickson. He quickly moved up to the Under-23 team and did enough to earn some chances training with the first-team.
