Newcastle United transfer rumours as Hugo Ekitike saga rolls on and Magpies tipped to sign Gareth Bale

Here are your latest Newcastle United transfer rumours on Sunday, June 19.

Ekitike saga rolls on

Newcastle’s bid to sign Reims striker is turning into a transfer saga, with Sky Sports transfer guru Dharmesh Sheth writing that details are to be finalised but the Magpies are pushing for the deal.

It comes after rumours that the 19-year-old has been offered to other clubs - including Paris Saint-Germain - after agent’s fees caused a bump in the negotiations.

“Hugo Ekitike, the Reims striker, very, very highly rated,” he told GiveMeSport,. “Newcastle, they do want him.The fee would work out to be a package worth around £30million. And personal terms, they’re still to be finalised as well.

“So still a bit of work to do on that one, but Newcastle do want him and they’re pushing to get that one over the line.”

Bale tipped for Newcastle move

Dean Saunders has tipped fellow Welshman Gareth Bale to make a move to Newcastle this summer after he was released by Real Madrid.

The 32-year-old free agent hit 106 goals in 258 games for the Spanish giants, winning five Champions League titles and three La Liga trophies - and Saunders thinks he would fit in brilliantly at St James’ Park.

''If I could pick a club for him to go to now, I’d say sign for Newcastle. They’ve got a project; they’re going in the right direction – he would slot in." the 57-year-old told TalkSport. "The fans right now in Newcastle, because I’ve been there and I worked there – and I realise how much they love the club – right now they could sell 80,000 season tickets.''
