Newcastle United team news: Magpies hand three new boys debuts

Newcastle United boss Steve Bruce handed Callum Wilson, Jamal Lewis and Jeff Hendrick their Toon bows at the London Stadium.

As expected fellow new boy Ryan Fraser was only deemed fit enough to start on the bench.

But with Jonjo Shelvey and Allan Saint-Maximin in from the start and ex-Hammer Andy Carroll, United's line-up looked on paper, at least, to be quite impressive.

Despite being told he had held on to the number 9 shirt, Joelinton was only named as sub.

There were eye brows raised when Miguel Almiron joined him on the sidelines.

But Bruce at least has a Plan B if it goes wrong against David Moyes' men.
