Newcastle United's Dan Burn might be from Blyth, as the chant goes, but he made the trip to the city centre to enjoy a well-deserved brunch after a busy Easter weekend in the capital.
The 30-year-old defender delighted staff when he popped into Horticulture on Market Lane at around 1pm today (April 11) where he grabbed a coffee with a pal before tucking into chorizo hash.
Burn, who helped the team seal their 2-1 win over Brentford on Saturday, even took the time to share a good-humoured joke about his teammate Bruno Guimaraes with Horticulture manager Joe Taylor and supervisor Sam Scott.

After posing for photos with the pair in front of a lightbox sign that said 'We’ve got Bruno in the middle,' Burn joked with staff that they should change the sign to read 'He's from Blyth.'
Manager Joe, who is a life-long Newcastle supporter, said Burn stayed for around an hour and when he left staff actually did change the sign in honour of his visit.
"He was lovely, happy, and great to chat to," he said.
“We get a fair few sports personalities visit frequently but we never like to make a fuss. However, when he saw the lightbox with Bruno on it, we had a laugh and it was an obvious photo opportunity."
Horticulture owner Mike Hesketh was delighted Burn visited the restaurant and bar.
It's great to see so many famous faces in our venue, but we don't like to harass folk for pictures and endorsements," he said.
"But it's class when a local lad like Dan is sound to take a pic with our hardcore Geordie staff."
