Newcastle United midfielder says only a move to Barcelona could tempt him into a move

Newcastle United's Dan Barlaser is enjoying his time on loan at Rotherham United - and claims only a January move to Barcelona could end his time there.

Having signed a new contract with the Magpies in the summer, the midfielder was snapped up by South Yorkshire club and has impressed.

The 22-year-old scored his second goal of the campaign on New Year's Day - a stunning free-kick against Blackpool - and told reporters after the game that he's staying at the New York Stadium, unless a certain team come calling.

Speaking to the Rotherham Advertiser, Barlaser joked that only Barcelona could tempt him to call time on his loan deal in League One.

Rotherham Advertiser's Paul Davis tweeted: "Just interviewed Millers match-winner Dan Barlaser.

" Newcastle United loan midfielder tells me he's staying with #rufc for the entire season.

"Says the only way he will leave in the transfer window is if Barcelona come in for him."

Barlaser was always due to remain on loan at Rotherham until the end of the season.
