Newcastle United fans offer transfer verdicts on Ryan Babel and Olivier Giroud amid links

Newcastle United have been linked with an array of names in the January transfer window already but two in particular have come to the fore this week in Ryan Babel and Olivier Giroud.

This has led to reaction aplenty from fans, who have been offering up their verdicts on the potential of the Magpies landing the duo.

Eurosport have reported that Newcastle and Ajax are interested in signing former Liverpool player Babel from Galatasaray.

The 33-year-old was on loan last season at Fulham and scored five times as the Londoners were relegated.

Fans have subsequently let their thoughts be known on social media, with some claiming that it would be a 'very good' signing.

But it's not just Babel who has been linked with the Magpies, with Chelsea striker Giroud also a player that Steve Bruce 's men are said to be tracking.

Tammy Abraham's form at Chelsea has led to Giroud becoming surplus to requirements in many ways and increased the likeliness of a departure this month.

The competition for the 33-year-old could be fierce, though, as Inter Milan also want to sign the Frenchman.

Whilst fans are hopeful of Newcastle pulling off a potential loan deal, they insist that the chances are pretty slim.
