Mike Ashley releases statement on PPV
Mike Ashley has hit out at the Premier League's pay per view scheme as "unacceptable" and called for the price to be reduced.
Fans are forced to fork out £14.95 for certain games, and in a rare outburst Ashley wants to see games slashed to under a fiver.
He said: "I am calling on the Premier League to immediately act and review its current pay-per-view arrangements for live matches in the UK.
"Charging £14.95 for single televised matches in the current climate it is not acceptable to any football fan."
Bruce accused of 'anti-football'
Newcastle were accused of "anti-football" in their Premier League draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers,
BBC pundit Chris Sutton is a fan of the job Steve Bruce has done at St James' Park but couldn't hide his frustration at the way the side was set up at Molineux, where United snatched a point courtesy of Jacob Murphy's late free-kick.
Newcastle had 37% possession and allowed Wolves most of the ball while defending resolutely.
Sutton was scathing in his assessment on Radio 5Live, saying: "Was that not anti-football today? They were so negative and so boring.
"They were awful weren't they? There wasn't a lot of intent. I'm a big fan of Steve Bruce and I think he has done a good job but come on, that was pitiful from Newcastle."
Bruce's tactical admission
Newcastle earned a solid point on the road against Wolves on Sunday, but question marks were again raised about the performance.
Having defended resolutely throughout, the visitors went home with a point thanks to Jacob Murphy's late effort. Despite having a more restrained approach, Bruce said his side had tried to be "more open" in previous outings - but heavy defeats called for a rethink.
After picking up a point at Molineux he said: "Look we tried to be a bit more open in the last few weeks.
"And we've had a couple of hidings.
"So it was important that we addressed the balance of that.
"With the injuries that we've had especially in midfield.
"We don't need any more that's for sure."
