Newcastle transfer rumours with Sadio Mane claim and 'meeting' planned for Arsenal-linked talent

Here is your latest 4am Newcastle United transfer digest.

Mane claim

Bayern Munich 'hope to convince' Newcastle to make a summer move for Sadio Mane, according to 'Sport1' podcast Die Bayern-Woche via Fussball Transfers. The former Liverpool star endured a difficult debut season in the Bundesliga, with the report suggesting Thomas Tuchel is keen to move the Senegal international on.

However, the 31-year-old is one of the top earners at Bayern, making it difficult for the club to find potential suitors. Newcastle have been tipped to move for another attacker in the upcoming window, despite landing long-term target Anthony Gordon in January.

The Magpies boast depth on the left flank, with Alexander Isak, Joelinton, Allan Saint-Maximin and Joe Willock all enjoying the role in the closing stages of the campaign. A right-sided forward seems a more pressing concern, although the finances required to land Mane surely make a move for the out-of-favour Bayern star unlikely.

Guler meeting?

Beyond the 'elite' additions Eddie Howe has called for this summer, Newcastle continue to look to bolster their depth of talent. Yankuba Minteh seems set to become the latest rising star to arrive, albeit the teenage forward is expected to swiftly depart on loan in the same window.

Another emerging talent who is still being linked with a St James' Park switch is Arda Guler, with attacker enjoying a breakthrough season with Fenerbahce. Arsenal and Ajax are among the European sides also credited with an interest with the 18-year-old.

Turkish outlet Karar claim Magpies' representatives will hold a meeting with Guler and his family in the coming days over prospective deal. Fenerbahce are said to be keen to hold on to the exciting attacker for another season.
