Newcastle transfer gossip amid Bruno Guimaraes' Real Madrid chat and Manchester United stars linked

Your Newcastle United transfer round-up for Tuesday, October 11.

Bruno’s Madrid conversation

Bruno Guimaraes has deflected talk linking him with a move to Real Madrid. Heads are starting to turn towards the Brazilian for his dazzling displays since arriving on Tyneside.

After his brace helped Newcastle beat Brentford 5-1 on Saturday, Guimaraes admitted there was a “conversation” about a move abroad - but insisted his heart remains at St James’ Park. He post-match: “I feel at home here! Real Madrid is the best team in the world. It is nice. It was just a conversation, but it is nothing.

He added: “I never doubted the project. I believe it in the beginning. I always wanted to play in the Premier League and I enjoy it. The ground loves me and I love them. No joking, I am at home here. I need to keep going."

Donny van de Beek links re-emerge

Manchester United misfit Donny van de Beek is a Newcastle target again, according to GiveMeSport. It is safe to say the Dutchman's Premier League experience has not gone to plan so far.

Since arriving in 2020, the 25-year-old has only started nine top-flight games for Manchester United. The Magpies offered an escape route in January but Van der Beek opted to join Everton on loan instead.

However, this new report claims Newcastle want a midfielder and are considering another attempt to sign the flop. Former club Ajax are also understood to be interested in ending his Old Trafford nightmare.

More Red Devils links

Another Man United star, Luke Shaw, is also reportedly attracting interest from Newcastle. Football Insider claim the England left-back is on the Toon’s radar after falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag.

Summer signing Tyrell Malacia has emerged as first choice, with Shaw making just four Premier League appearances this season. The 27-year-old was even benched for the Red Devils’ 3-2 Europa League win against Omonia - an ominous sign for his future.

Signing a seasoned Three Lions international on a free transfer could be appealing to Eddie Howe & Co next summer. As it stands, Newcastle are well-stacked at left-back, with Matt Targett, Jamal Lewis, Paul Dummett, Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier and Javier Manquillo all capable of playing there.
