Newcastle to the Canary Islands - Easter flight prices for Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria

Thinking of heading abroad for the Easter holidays? It’s the ideal time to pack up the family and seek out some Spanish sun, especially with the news that more snow is heading our way.

Thankfully, getting away for a break has never been easier, with regular flights leaving from Newcastle Airport to some of our favourite Spanish islands. Now that the summer schedule has begun, there are more flights to the Canary Islands than ever thanks to three airlines offering direct flights

So if you fancy jetting off on an Easter holiday to a Canary Island, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve compared flights to the four largest islands from Jet2, Ryanair and TUI for a family getaway.

Here, prices are for a family of four (two adults and two children aged 13 and nine) for a week-long holiday during the school break. Prices as of March 8, 2023.

Tenerife

All options here depart on April 9 and return on April 16. Ryanair prices are for flights only.

Ryanair - £1,180

Coming in at the cheapest option, Ryanair is the budget-friendly airline for a reason. Here a family of four flies on priority tickets, meaning passengers can carry two cabin bags as well as a personal item.

TUI - £2,251

It may seem drastically more expensive, but this option from TUI includes hotel stay at a resort with a waterpark for the youngsters just five minutes away. This also includes your transfers to and from the airport.

Jet2Holidays - £2,128

Another package option, this Jet2Holidays getaway comes with a generous luggage allowance and transfers. While the self-catering apartments do have a nearby pool, it’s no waterpark.

Lanzarote

All options here depart on April 3 and return on April 10. Ryanair prices are for flights only.

Ryanair - £1,436

The family plus fare on these Ryanair tickets come with free seats for kids up to 12 years old and a generous luggage allowance, with a 10kg checked bag for all and an additional 20kg checked bag for all your family essentials.

Jet2Holidays - £3,224

Staying at a lovely beach resort just ticks all the boxes for an Easter getaway with plenty of sun. This option includes a beachfront apartment, 10kg of hand luggage and 22kg checked baggage each and coach transfers to your accommodation.

Tui - £2,254

Staying at a four-star resort here., with scores of positive reviews, you’ll be pleased to know you don’t have to worry about much thanks to its all-inclusive board. Coach transfers and enough baggage for a week are also included here.

Fuerteventura

All options here depart on April 8 and return on April 15. Ryanair prices are for flights only.

Ryanair - £1,426

This four-and-a-half-hour flight will be over in a flash and thanks to Ryanair’s Family Plus tickets you can rest assured that you’ll be sat together with seat reservations and a decent baggage allowance included.

Jet2Holidays - £2,772

This all-inclusive resort looks light a little slice of paradise with seven swimming pools and picturesque palm trees. It also offers a children’s club to keep the little ones entertained while you top up on your tan.

Gran Canaria

Ryanair prices are for flights only.

Ryanair - £2,303

One of the most expensive options was with Ryanair, with return flights in the triple digits. This fare includes the Family Plus tickets to make your flight as stress-free as possible, however.

Jet2Holidays - £3,092

While this may seem expensive, this bed and breakfast option is at one of Jet2’s luxe resorts and comes with everything you could need for a week’s holiday. With generous flight times and baggage allowances, you can look forward to relaxing in the spa while the children have fun at the kids club with playground and splash park.

TUI - £2,921

Spend the week at an all-inclusive resort on a clifftop hotel overlooking the sea. Could a holiday sound any more relaxing?
