A violent thug smashed a bottle over another woman's head just three days after being given a chance by a judge to prove she can behave.
Emma Lisle had been given a deferred sentence on November 8 last year, meaning if she kept out of trouble she could avoid going to prison for assaulting a woman with a bag containing bottles, punching her and pulling her by the hair. She also spat at a police officer while making threats.
But just three days after a judge gave her that chance, she attacked another woman, along with then-partner Paul Keenan. The victim was knocking on a friend's door when the couple engaged in a verbal confrontation which then turned physical.

Lisle told her "I warned you about s******* my gadgie" and punched her hard in the face and she was then grabbed by Keenan, who started to choke her while punching her in the head with his free hand and Lisle was also hitting her.

Keenan then shouted for her to get a bottle and Lisle got a two litre wine bottle and struck her with it three times to the head, the third blow smashing the glass and knocking her out. She had to be taken to hospital and her head wound was stapled shut.
Lisle, 39, of Gainsborough Grove, Newcastle, who has 95 previous convictions, including robbery, wounding, assault and racially aggravated assault, admitted unlawful wounding and was also sentenced for the earlier offences of assault and assaulting an emergency worker. She was locked up for two years and ten months at Newcastle Crown Court.

Keenan, 50, of Durham Street, Elswick, who has 107 previous convictions, admitted unlawful wounding and was jailed for two years.
Jamie Adams, for Lisle, said: "She is a vulnerable person herself, she's had very bad mental health problems. She regrets her behaviour and there's an element of shame."
Tony Cornberg, for Keenan, said he is not usually violent and has a history of drug abuse.
