Newcastle striker Joelinton hits the town to celebrate his 23rd birthday

He's yet to find the night in the Premier League but Newcastle United's new striker Joelinton was in celebratory mood last week when he hit the town to celebrate his 23rd birthday.

It's not been the best of starts to the season for the Brazilian's new club with the Magpies losing 1-0 to Arsenal at St James' Park on opening weekend and then being on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline at Norwich on Saturday.

Joelinton signed from Hoffenheim for a club record fee of £40 million in July and in an interview in the matchday programme for the Arsenal game revealed he'd been enjoying a few meals out as he settled into life on Tyneside.

He named Babucho, Aveika and Piccolino as his favourite restaurants so far it was Quayside haunt Aveika that Joelinton visited on Wednesday, August 15 when he turned 23.

The forward lives in Newcastle city centre so he didn't have far to travel for his birthday meal. He is currently waiting for his girlfriend and two year old son to join him in his new home.

On Monday, NUFC officially announced the signing of French defender Ludwig Francillette.
