Newcastle United have completed the signing of England youth international Matthew Bondswell.
The 18-year-old arrives on a free transfer after his release from RB Leipzig and he will now head to play for Newcastle’s Under-23s under Chris Hogg.
Bondswell is a left-back who will join the group at Little Benton.
The teenager left Nottingham Forest at the age of 18 and signed for the Bundesliga club. He spent a spell on loan at FC Dordrecht in Holland earlier this season and has caps for England from under-15 to under-18 level.
Bondswell said: "It's an amazing feeling to be at such a big club.
“I'm really looking forward to getting started with the boys and hopefully doing some successful things in the future."
