New York woman overhears Tyler on a flight laughing about his fiancée Amanda with his female companion. And so the search for Amanda from Rochester begins

Every once in a while, the internet puts aside its differences and comes together for a common cause. The latest? Trying to locate a woman known only as ‘Amanda from Rochester.’

Amanda’s callout first came from TikToker Cozzo (@cozzox27) three days ago.

The clip consists of Cozzo seemingly sitting at an airport, looking at the camera while the video displays the following text: “Amanda from Rochester: your fiancé Tyler is not at the casino for his birthday with his friends — he’s in Orlando at the airport with a way too fried blonde woman, and she is aware of you.”

Since then, the video has amassed 2.6 million views, with the internet desperately trying to do its thing and locate Amanda to expose the truth about her philandering fiancé.

Commenters pledged their allegiance

In the comments, users all around the world showed their support for Amanda.

“All the way from South Africa,” one wrote. “Has Amanda been found? Can’t sleep.”

A second remarked, “Not me fully invested sat on my sofa in south east England waiting for Amanda to see this.”

With a third adding, “Me in Germany waiting for the update.”

Several commenters also claimed to know the Amanda in question.

“Me messaging my friend Amanda who has a fiancé Tyler near Rochester,” a fourth said.

“My sister is an Amanda from Rochester dating a Tyler,” a fifth shared.

“Stoppp not me knowing an Amanda and Tyler FROM Rochester,” a sixth exclaimed. “Hold up.”

TikTok users also claimed that the post had been shared on the New York ‘Are We Dating The Same Guy’ Facebook group, but The Mary Sue was unable to independently verify this.

In light of this popularity, Cozzo made a follow-up video — but it seems we’re no closer to finding Amanda.

Via on-screen text, Cozzo issued an appeal. “AMANDA FROM ROCHESTER,” she wrote. “If you
don’t bring your fine [expletive] over here! We’re up to 67 marriage proposals and the best example of girlhood that I’ve ever seen. We’re waiting for you.”

In a subsequent comment, Cozzo revealed that Amanda had now received 108 marriage proposals.

Cozzo also posted a third TikTok. It was footage of a toilet, with the caption, “POV: women globally preparing a space to flush Tyler off of the wedding plans for their sis Amanda.”

TikTokers paid tribute

Meanwhile, across the app, girlhood was at its best as numerous TikTokers pledged their allegiance to Amanda.

One TikToker declared via on-screen text that “we ride at dawn for my girl Amanda from Rochester.”

While a second wrote a more lengthy caption overlaying footage of herself. It read: “Everybody is so worried about a country divided. Then, 48 hrs ago, here comes Tyler being caught in an airport with another woman talking about a fiancé named Amanda. They laugh and laugh about his cheating on her, as they fly into Buffalo Airport. A video regarding it gets posted on TikTok, and every woman from Buffalo, NY, from here to South Africa, London, Nova Scotia, Germany, Canada, and every State in America has agreed to stand behind Amanda from Rochester. But we can’t find Amanda.”

“I think WOMEN JUST SOLVED WORLD PEACE,” she declared. “WE LOVE YOU AMANDA.”

What if Amanda doesn’t want to be found?

However, while the internet is having its fun, this situation begs an important question: Does Amanda even want to be exposed like this?

As Refinery29 writer Tanyel Mustafa argues, “There’s something humiliating about airing dirty laundry so publicly, but when we don’t know how to find the person in question, some might argue it boils down to women helping women. How else might they find them?”

She continues, “Even if the end justifies the means, there’s something icky about the whole thing. Not to mention how confident a person has to be to take their suspicions online, knowing they may be uprooting a person’s entire life.”

The Mary Sue reached out to the creator via TikTok comment.
