New TV show The Elect filming in Glasgow - roads affected by Channel 4 production

Filming for a mystery new TV show is to take over part of Glasgow city centre later this month.

Production crews will descend on the city to shoot scenes for four-part TV show The Elect, which is being made by STV for Channel 4.

Details are thin on the ground regarding who is starring in the forthcoming TV show and what the plot involves.

What we do know is that Glasgow City Council has confirmed to us that filming will take place over three days from Wednesday, May 25 to Friday, May 27 in the area around Douglas Street.

It comes as production prepares wrap on upcoming Sky Original 1970s revenge thriller Borderland, which stars Aml Ameen, Colin Morgan, Sophia Brown, Mark Strong and Felicity Jones.

Filming to date has seen production crews recreate an IRA bombing on Bridge Street, with hi-octane scenes involving replica weapons also being shot near Kelvingrove Park.
