New trailer for Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham's Covid drama set in Liverpool

Channel 4 have released a new trailer for a new drama starring Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham.

Help stars the two scouse actors - and takes place in a fictional Liverpool care home at the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.

Jodie plays a shy care home worker named Sarah who forms a special connection with Stephen Graham's Tony, a 47-year-old patient who has been diagnosed with Young Onset Alzheimers.

The story has been written by BAFTA award-winning writer Jack Thorne - and will chart how Sarah and Tony's lives are changed forever by the unprecedented period.

Channel 4 have yet to confirm a release date for the show - but a new trailer of the 120 minute drama was released on Twitter today.

Jodie and Stephen share a close relationship off-screen - and it will be the first time the two have worked together since she thanked the 48-year-old from Kirkby for playing a big part in her journey to stardom at the BAFTAs.

The drama is a passion project for both actors and they have both spoken of how proud they are to have worked on the film.

Speaking to Channel 4, Jodie said: "“For us to be able to explore such a relevant and emotive story through the eyes of such beautifully real characters, and in our home city of Liverpool, is a real honour."

Stephen added: "I’ve wanted to work with Jodie for ages, and together we’re hugely passionate about shining a light on one of the biggest tragedies of our time and the people at the heart of it.”

Fans took to Twitter to say how they are excited to see the two Liverpool actors on screen together.

One user said: "Can't wait, two of my favourite actors in the same show!"

Another added: "Looking forward to watching this, 2 fantastic actors"

A third commented: "Cant wait to see this since Jodie's speaking with her full on thick scouse accent! YAYY"

A fourth posted: "So so proud of this!"

Help is coming soon to Channel 4
