New taco van could be opening at Bristol's College Green

A new Mexican taco van could soon be setting up on College Green in Bristol outside City Hall. A poster has been put up on the railings outside City Hall saying street food traders Pura Vida have applied to Bristol City Council for a licence to set up their van.

The taco van would sell Mexican tacos and soft drinks every day from 5pm to 10.30pm, according to the poster. Anybody wishing to object to the licence application can write to the council’s licensing department before Monday, March 13.

Objections can be sent to licensing@bristol.gov.uk — or in writing to Licensing Team (100TS) PO Box 3399, Bristol, BS1 9NE. If the council does receive public objections, the application could go to a licensing hearing to be decided by councillors in public. The application was made on Tuesday, February 21.

It’s unclear exactly where the taco van would be located, but the poster was put up on the railings next to the existing coffee van. Up the hill nearby, a new Taco Bell fast food restaurant opened last December, although that’s a steep half-a-mile walk up Park Street away.
