New Sony WF-1000XM6 leaks point to pricing and a release date for the flagship wireless earbuds

Sony WF-1000XM5.
  • We may have an exact launch date for the Sony WF-1000XM6
  • A small price rise in the US has also been predicted
  • The Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds launched in July 2023

The Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds launched way back in July 2023, so we're more than ready for what comes next – and fresh leaks suggest the Sony WF-1000XM6 are almost here, while also giving us some hints about pricing.

As reported by Dealabs (via Notebookcheck), preorders for the Sony WF-1000XM6 are apparently going to open on Thursday, February 12. Shipping and general availability is then expected from Monday, February 23.

What's more, Dealabs says the wireless earbuds are going to be priced at $329.99 in the US. For comparison, the original pricing for the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds was $299.99 / £259 / AU$499 when they launched in the middle of 2023.

Exact price points and differences may vary by region though, because the same article predicts that the new buds will see a €20 price reduction in Europe compared to the 2023 version, putting the cost at €299.99.

What we want to see

This is by no means the first leak we've had around the Sony WF-1000XM6. Right at the end of 2025 we saw spare-part listings for the earbuds, in both black and silver colors, with shipping listed for February, matching up with a launch in that month.

These dinky earbuds have also been spotted going through the necessary regulatory processes in the US, another sign that Sony is almost ready to reveal them to the world at large.

As yet though, we don't know too much about the audio upgrades the Sony WF-1000XM6 might bring with them – we're hoping for improved noise cancellation, more color options, and of course better battery life between charges.

Sony may start teasing the launch of the new wireless earbuds way before February 12, so could see some hints about their arrival in the days and weeks running up to that date as well as more leaks – and as always we will keep you informed.
