New series of Geordie Shore 'thrown into chaos' by coronavirus as filming is suspended

The new series of Geordie Shore has been 'thrown into chaos' by the spread of coronavirus.

The 20th series of the hit MTV show has already hit the headlines due to spats that have happened on night outs during filming in Newcastle and the addition of shock new cast member, former X Factor finalist Amelia Lily, and now it's hit a major obstacle due to the global pandemic, with important scenes unable to be filmed.

A source told The Sun Online: "It's thrown the end of the series into chaos, really, as the cast haven't filmed the final green screen chats, where they talk to the camera about what's happening on the show.

"All the nights out and footage in the house is in the bag, it's just the commentary that they didn't finish - which has really put a spanner in the works.

"They're hoping they can complete the show but some parts of the filming had to be postponed."

Whatever happens with filming, a MTV spokesperson confirmed to The Sun that the new series would still start airing this month as planned.

As well as Amelia, Geordie Shore regulars like Chloe Ferry, Nathan Henry and Bethan Kershaw, will be joined in the new series by MMA fighter Anthony Kennedy and Yorkshire lad Louis Shaw, who is rumoured to have enjoyed a romance with Chloe, following her split from co-star Sam Gowland.

Bethan was reported to have 'stormed out of the house' and off the show after a row with co-star and boyfriend Beau Brennan.
