Paul Heckingbottom says Rangers have made a "statement signing" in Kemar Roofe.
The former Hibs boss was Roofe's manager at Leeds United, and believes Rangers fans will love their new forward.
27-year-old Roofe signed a four-year deal with the Ibrox club on Tuesday, arriving on the same day as Swiss centre-forward Cedric Itten.
Roofe scored 33 goals in 123 appearances for Leeds before joining Anderlecht in 2019.
Speaking in the Scottish Sun, Heckingbottom said: "It’s a great bit of business for Steven Gerrard. That’s a statement signing from Rangers, very impressive.
“I’m certain he’ll do well in Scotland, and the Rangers fans will love his approach.
“I wish Kemar well, he’s a good lad and a top professional.

"He’ll enjoy the size of Rangers. He’s been at Leeds and Anderlecht, so going to Ibrox won’t faze him at all.
“He will relish the pressure and expectation. I’m really pleased for him with this move.
“Kemar’s a very capable boy. Whatever Stevie Gerrard asks him to do he’ll be able to carry it out.
“He’s just a very good signing it, it’s as simple as that.
“It’s not a gamble, Gerrard and Rangers will know exactly what they are getting. Kemar’s so professional.
“He’s a relatively quiet lad and his main focus is on being fit, looking after himself and doing well.
“Away from the club he will do everything correctly.
“The Rangers players will take to him quickly, as will the supporters.”
