New Queen of the goalie says Dumfries move was "no-brainer"

New Queens goalkeeper Kevin Dabrowski said it was a “no-brainer” to join Queen of the South.

The 24-year-old shot-stopper is on loan from Hibs for the remainder of the season.

Dabrowski, who was born in Poznan, Poland, played half a dozen times for the Hibees last season and is keen for first-team action in Dumfries.

He said: “I’m very happy I could sign for such a big club as Queen of the South and have the opportunity to play and start from the first minute.

“It was an easy decision because I wanted to play. When I had the chance to play under Marvin Bartley it was a no-brainer for me.

“Having him here I really feel I will improve in every aspect so I’m delighted I have the chance to play every week.

“I’m looking forward to the next game and I’m looking forward to winning games for Queen of the South.”

Dabrowski, who has also had stints at Berwick Rangers, Cowdenbeath and Dumbarton, made his debut in last week’s 1-0 loss to Montrose.

He said: “The way we played, the way we created chances, the goal was coming but unfortunately in football if you don’t take your chances the opposition will use that against you. Unfortunately they had that one chance and they used it.

“We got beat and when I get beat I’m not the happiest guy. But I hardly made any mistakes, I had composure, I did everything I was asked from the staff but unfortunately I couldn’t help my team to win the game.

“But I’m really happy to be here. I feel confident and I’m sure in the next game we’ll kick on even better and get those crucial points.”

The South had no game at the weekend due to the Scottish Cup taking place but are back in action on Saturday with a trip to Peterhead and Dabrowski feels Queens aren’t far away from getting a big win.

He added: “The boys created a lot of good opportunities at Montrose so there is a good potential in this team and having the gaffer with such a big profile will be very good for us. I’ll be looking forward to getting victories because I know we will get them.”
