'New outlook' - Ryan Yates shares Gustavo Scarpa insight after Nottingham Forest transfer

Ryan Yates has spoken about the impact Gustavo Scarpa has had on Nottingham Forest since his arrival in December.

The 29-year-old who joined from Brazilian side Palmeiras has so far featured five times for Steve Cooper, but equally, did not feature in six games. He returned to the matchday squad in the Newcastle United defeat last week.

Although he is yet to feature regularly, Scarpa has already shown some of his qualities on and off the pitch. Supporters are eager to see more as Forest are in an ongoing relegation battle.

Speaking in a Forest's On and Off the Pitch Podcast, Yates spoke highly of his team mate and believes Scarpa has had a positive impact on the Reds.

"He’s come to the club and he’s been such a breath of fresh air, Scarpa," Yates said. "He’s just given us a new outlook."

The midfielder has also passed on his interest in Rubik's Cube to some of the players in the squad, including Yates. "He’s always got the Rubik's Cube in his hand but he’s always there for a chat," Yates concluded.
