New mum Cameron Diaz shares top tip for parents with infants in lockdown

Cameron Diaz says opposing sleep habits with her husband Benji Madden have proved to be a perfect match for raising their newborn daughter amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 47-year-old Charlies Angels icon became a first time mum last December when she and 41-year-old husband Benji welcomed their daughter Raddix.

Early bird Cammy says the fact her rock star husband is a night owl has lead to perfect symmetry when it comes to caring for their three-month-old daughter.

The retired actress shared the details during an Instagram Live interview with a make-up artist on Wednesday.

“Benji wants to go to bed late, and I like to go to bed early… that works so well for us as parents,” the Hollywood star said.

“I can go to bed a few hours early and he does those later feeds with her,” she continued.

“I can wake up early and be with her in the morning and [Benji] can sleep,” she added.

Indeed, spending time locked up together due to social distancing lockdown measures has made Cameron realise how much she appreciates the differences that exist between her and her Good Charlotte guitarist husband.

“We all need somebody… somebody who doesn’t do what we do,” she suggests.

While Cammy hasn’t made any movies since starring in the 2014 version of Annie, she says being a new mum is keeping her busy.

“I literally get up and don’t stop moving until I lay my head down on the pillow,” she said.

“I’m so used to going, going, going. My engine starts and I don’t idle through the day,” she continued.

Cameron also shared advice to anyone feeling anxious about the ongoing lockdown measures keeping people cooped up at home around the world.

She advised: “The best thing to do is to stay in the moment, just take care. Until there’s a vaccination we don’t know anything.”

People Magazine says Cameron and Benji consider themselves full time parents after taking a step out of the limelight.

A source said: “This is their full-time job and they just want to be with their daughter... They very much enjoy their new life with Rad."
