Images released of new Hilton hotel which will create 50 jobs

Fifty new jobs are expected to be created at a new Hilton hotel which is opening in Stoke-on-Trent this summer.

The Hilton Garden Inn, in Hanley, is currently under construction as part of the multi-million Smithfield development in the city centre.

And new CGI images which were released to StokeonTrentLive show how the £20 million hotel could look when it opens in July.

The 140-bedroom hotel will boast a trendy bar and lounge area as well as state-of-the-art conference and meeting facilities and a fully-equipped gym. There will also be a bar and full-service restaurants and a 70-space car park.

The hotel - whose future was thrown into doubt when construction company Pochin collapsed last August - is expected open its doors for the first time in July.

The recruitment process to fill 50 new jobs ahead of the opening will begin in the spring.

Steve Alty, sales manager at the Hilton Garden Inn, said: "There will be up to 50 roles available at the hotel, we will have positions for waiting-on staff, housekeeping and reception.

"We expect to start the recruitment process in the spring, a few months before opening in July."
