New Glasgow restaurant's mouthwatering menu revealed as head chef tells all

The head chef at a new Glasgow restaurant opening later this month has revealed what's on the menu.

Glasgow Live previously reported that Bothwell House will open its doors in Bothwell Street on September 30 at 12pm. The brasserie and cocktail house will replace what was Grill on the Corner.

Head chef, Gary Duncan is now teasing future diners with a taste of what the modern food joint will be serving up. The fare promises to blend Middle Eastern and Meditteranean cuisine 'with Scottish influences' that offers 'something for everyone'.

One the menu is a beef cheek and shallot pie with a handmade savoury herb crumb top, creamy mash potato, and glazed heritage carrots. Veggie fans can try the fragrant Marrakesh curry, packed full of seasonal vegetables and slow-cooked with ginger and mustard seeds that are served with jewelled rice and toasted flatbread.

Scottish steaks, Greek-style lamb kofta kebab and Turkish mushroom shawarma are on the grill. Meanwhile seafood is locally sourced from Scottish fishmongers with hand-dived scallops, trout, mackerel and more on offer.

As for burgers, Gary has created a Lebanese fried chicken with a seven-spice crispy coating and za’atar mayo, as well as spiced veggie falafel gyros and a smoky signature steak burger with onion jam and house pickles. All served on brioche.

Bar manager John Russell and his team of bartenders are pouring signature cocktails and classic serves as well as no and low mocktails and refreshments. Tipples include Violet Femme, What Lies Beneath and Drunk in Love, classics like martini, daiquiri and whisky favourites, alongside local craft beers, wines and independent Scottish spirits.
