A new flight between Glasgow and Germany launched today - a whole week before it was due to set off for the first time.
As reported on Glasgow Live , Loganair has launched a direct route from Glasgow International Airport to Dusseldorf.
It was initially scheduled to launch on March 31, but the daily service was brought forward by a week following a run on advance bookings.

The Embraaer 145 jet set off at 10.20am this morning, under captain Mark Dawber, first officer Adam Patrick and crew member Sheena Elphick - Loganair bosses were also present with a Dusseldorf-themed cake to celebrate the launch.
Jonathan Hinkles, Loganair’s managing director said: “We’re tremendously proud to be operating our first flights into Dusseldorf.
“This Glasgow to Germany airlink is crucial for the west coast of Scotland and advanced bookings have been really positive. We have scheduled a daily service to offer increased flexibility for business and leisure passengers, choosing between a short break or a quick overnight stay.

“It’s been an exciting period for the airline as we extend our reach further into Europe and across the UK, with Dusseldorf making the latest addition to our route map.”
It’s the airline’s first destination on the continent from Glasgow, having been taken over from previous operator Eurowings.
The flight to Dusseldorf takes one hour and 50 minutes with a returning service leaving Germany at 1.50pm daily - and seats are available from £69.99 one way, if you're looking to travel soon.
