Google is expanding Gemini’s experimental features with some new modes. If we go by the details spotted by Testing Catalog. The updates go beyond the previously known “gem pix” image editing option connected to the upcoming nano-banana model.
The highlight of the addition is the new Agent Mode, which was first teased at Google I/O. The latest description confirms that it will support autonomous exploration, planning, and execution. This brings Gemini closer to the agent-like workflows seen in its rivals like ChatGPT.

Along with the new Agent Mode, two more experimental options have surfaced. The first is Gemini Go, described as a way to “explore ideas together.” This points toward collaborative ideation features, possibly tied to Google’s Canvas platform, which already supports prototyping and sketching. However, it remains unclear whether Gemini Go will become a standalone mode or serve as a testing ground for Canvas-integrated brainstorming.

The second option is Immersive View, which promises to provide “visual answers to your questions.” This may build on Google’s existing Video Overviews or introduce new image generation capabilities that deliver visual explanations on demand.
However, it’s important to keep in mind that Google keeps experimenting with new features from time to time. And it’s important to keep in mind that not all experimental toggles make it as permanent features. Many serve as placeholders before being absorbed into the broader Gemini experience. Agent Mode, however, carries its own dedicated icon, hinting that it could remain a distinct option. The others still display a generic development icon, signaling their early experimental stage.
Though none of these features has been confirmed by Google itself, until we have some sort of official confirmation, it’s better to take all the information with a grain of salt.
Furthermore, it’s not only Gemini getting new features. The tech giant is showing new AI-powered features across its portfolio. Recently, Google Photos got a new text-based photo editing feature. Besides, the Docs is also getting a new “Listen to your documents” feature, which, as the name suggests, allows you to listen to your docs.
