New Coca Cola COFFEE drink is coming - and we're not sure how we feel about it

Coca-Cola bosses have revealed a coke coffee hybrid is on its way after a trial in 2017.

The company has announced it will launch Coca-Cola Plus Coffee in 25 countries by the end of the year - with destinations such as Australia likely to be the first to trial them.

The hybrid drink was was first trialled Down Under in 2017, before suddenly disappearing less than a year later.

But now it appears to be back with consumer-based Facebook account I Bought It At hinting at the launch.

"Not enough caffeine in your afternoon can of Coke? Well look no further! Coca Cola Plus Coffee will be soon available in 25 countries, it's rumoured that Australia is on this list," they wrote online.

"Coke Coffee was designed to reach consumers during specific occasions and channels like the mid-afternoon energy slump at work," CEO James Quincey said.

The drink is a mix of both cold brewed coffee and Coca-Cola - and as such, as less caffeine than the former and more than the latter. It also has less sugar than pure Coke.

Coke has actually tried a version of the drink before, but it wasn't a success. The company debuted Coca-Cola BlāK in 2006 but discontinued it in 2008.

The company also announced that it will launched a Coca-Cola energy drink this month in Spain and Hungary. This drink will taste just like coke but have 80 mg of natural caffeine, guarana extracts, and B vitamins.

"Coca-Cola Energy includes ingredients from naturally derived sources and a delicious and refreshing taste of Coca-Cola," Javier Meza, Coke's global chief marketing officer, sparkling business, said.

"We kept these two qualities at the heart of how we developed the recipe and are proud to offer it under the Coca-Cola brand, inviting people to try a new and different energy drink that is designed to complement upbeat and busy lives."
