New claim Newcastle's Martin Dubravka rejected move to Manchester United in Dean Henderson swap

Martin Dubravka turned down a deadline day move to Manchester United, according to the latest reports.

The Manchester Evening News claims the Newcastle goalkeeper rejected a loan move to Old Trafford, with Dean Henderson set to move in the opposite direction.

The report claims the Magpies were keen on bringing the Red Devils shot stopper to St. James' Park on a deal until the end of the season.

Newcastle sent third choice goalkeeper Freddie Woodman out on loan to Bournemouth for the remainder of the season, and reportedly offered Dubravka to Man United, with the Magpies 'wary' of Ralf Rangnick's desire for a back-up, if Henderson were to leave.

However, the Slovakian was not keen on playing second fiddle to David De Gea with him currently first choice at St. James' Park.

It remains to be seen whether Eddie Howe's side will revisit a potential move for Henderson in the summer, with the England goalkeeper frustrated over a lack of game time.

The Man United academy graduate had been tipped to establish himself as number one at Old Trafford this season, after making 25 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer last term.

However, the 24-year-old is now understood to be keen on a move away from the Red Devils, with his contract due to expire in 2025.

It's unclear at this stage whether Man United would sanction a permanent transfer in the summer, but Henderson is keen on game time with the World Cup on the horizon.
