It seems Black Sabbath won’t be making a new album after all. The band have reportedly decided against returning to the studio to follow-up their 2013 comeback album 13. Instead they will concentrate on a lengthy farewell tour called The End.
It was only a year ago that Ozzy Osbourne was telling the press that Sabbath would record one final album together. Speaking to Metal Hammer in September 2014, Osbourne had said: “We’ll get on to it next year,” adding that he would “fly to the fucking moon for it if I have to.”
However, Osbourne’s space trip looks like it’s now been cancelled. According to quotes given to the New Orlean’s Times-Picayune, Sabbath have chosen not to make another record. “It’s the end of Sabbath, believe me,” said the singer.
According to Rolling Stone, representatives at the band’s label Universal have confirmed this news. The band’s farewell tour will begin on 20 January in Omaha, Nebraska.
