New Birmingham home for The Coffee Bar

An independent coffee shop in Birmingham has moved to a new home in the heart of the business district.

The Coffee Bar has opened in 4 Temple Row, having relocated from the Oasis Markets in Corporation Street.

The café is run by Al Mehmet who returned to Birmingham from London to follow his passion for coffee after working for Microsoft for four years.

His ambition is to grow a thriving, sustainable coffee community, connecting like-minded people with workspaces, workshops and eventually cocktails.

Mr Mehmet said: "I'm really excited to move to Temple Row. We've already grown a strong following through social media and locally and this new coffee shop right in the heart of the city provides the perfect place to grow our fan base.

"It's a place for coffee lovers run by enthusiasts with all the coffee sourced from micro-roasters from across the UK who use environmentally responsible methods."

Rupert Young, development director with landlord Nurton Developments, added: "The Coffee Bar joins the list of great independents in Birmingham forging a name for themselves in the city.

"Once again the retail element of 4 Temple Row is attracting a young entrepreneur looking to create a quality experience in Birmingham.

"Only recently De La Crem took space to expand its business and benefit from the strong footfall in the area which, despite the pandemic, has continued to remain robust for food and drink and will only increase as the city continues to open up."
