New BBC drama Time leaves viewers on edges of their seat as they rush to finish it

Viewers have been left blown away by new BBC drama Time after the channel made all the episodes available to binge watch.

The series, starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham launched on BBC1 on Sunday night in the slot previously occupied by Stephen's former show Line of Duty and immediately sparked a huge reaction.

From its claustrophobic opening scene which showed Sean's character cooped up in a prison van as things kicked off around him, to the harrowing scene involving his cell mate, many people watching at home said they found Time an incredibly tough watch, but were also full of praise for the cast and director Jimmy McGovern.

Former Sharpe and Goldeneye star Sean plays Mark Cobden, a teacher and devoted husband and dad who finds himself behind bars after a fatal error on a night out, while Stephen plays prison officer Eric McNally who is forced to compromise his job in a bid to protect his son.

Unlike Line of Duty, which left fans on the edges of their sofas every Sunday before making them a wait a week to find out what happened next, all three episodes of Time have been made available on BBC iPlayer.

And viewers have wasted no time in binging them all in one go before flooding social media with superlatives on how good it is.

Rest assured, this will remain a spoiler free zone until the final episode has gone out on BBC on June 20, suffice to say we are in firm agreement that Time is MUST watch.

Viewers have flocked to Twitter to exchange reactions with other viewers who were left gripped by the three parter.

After the credits rolled on episode 3 for them, one tweeted: " #TimeBBC is in my opinion the best TV drama I’ve watched this year.

"Superbly written and perfectly cast. Gripping and heartbreaking. Sean Bean and Stephen Graham were outstanding."

Equally impressed, another posted: "Superb drama brilliantly written and acting of the highest standard. Perhaps #SeanBean best," and, having watched all the episodes, a third commented: "I watched them all last night hope I never go prison"
