Ever since lockdown started many supermarket customers have struggled to secure an online delivery slot.
Retailers have reserved some slots for their most vulnerable customers and are asking those who are able to do so to visit stores.
Earlier this week, in another big to help those most in need during lockdown, Asda launched a essential food box which promises to be filled with key items and some treats.
Each box costs £30, and the price includes delivery.
Because the boxes are delivered by DPD, you won't need to book an online delivery slot on the Asda website, meaning you won't have to wait as long for your items to arrive.
However, one of the most exciting aspects of the box is that it comes with a guaranteed delivery within two days.
This is a big difference to the current wait times some customers are facing to try and secure a delivery slot online.
Shoppers won't be able to choose what goes in the boxes, but Asda has promised they will contain everything to keep your home well stocked, reports MEN.
According to Asda: "Changes in availability will alter what we can pick for you, but don’t worry, we’ll always make sure there’s a good variety of products in The Cupboard Filler box - keeping your home well stocked when you need it most."
A typical box contains approximately 31 items and may include:
- Tea
- Coffee
- Baked beans & canned soup
- Long life Milk
- Bread
- Cereal & cereal bars
- Biscuits
- Tinned vegetables
- Toilet roll
- Rice, pasta & pasta sauce
Deliveries will be made seven days a week, between 6am and 8pm.
You’ll receive a confirmation email which you can use to track the progress of your delivery. On the day of delivery, the courier will contact you via email to let you know your delivery time slot.
