Neutral dining chairs are out – Pamela Anderson's cobalt blue seating forecasts what's replacing them in 2026, and it's easy to replicate

Pamela Anderson.

Though the quiet luxury era was fun, we're in the mood for bigger, brighter, and most importantly, bolder colors and silhouettes in the latter half of the decade. Apparently, so is Pamela Anderson.

The actress took to Instagram to share an adorable video dancing in her neutral outfit, but we were equally intrigued by the bright backdrop of her dining room. Pamela's space is awash with primary colors. It features red walls and, intriguingly, cobalt blue dining chairs.

If the newly crowned queen of domesticity condones it, it's clear this brighter option for dining room seating is more than a blip; it's a rising interior design trend.

Design experts second Pamela's implicit endorsement of the newfound popularity of decorating with blue, rather than with neutrals.

Karl Openshaw, designer at Blocc House of Interiors predicts that cobalt will be one of the most popular colors of 2026. He advises: 'If you’re looking to create a sense of calm with a touch of mystery, this is the shade for you. Incorporate it into an accent wall or go bold with a cobalt velvet sofa or striking art pieces. It’s a shade that feels both modern and timeless, effortlessly blending into contemporary and classic interiors alike.'

Though blue is Pamela's striking choice, it's possible to tap into this emerging dining room trend with a range of primary colors. They are all on trend.

Karl explains: 'For 2026, we’re seeing a bold resurgence of the primary color palette. Red, yellow, and blue, those three iconic hues, are not just nostalgic but are set to define the interiors of tomorrow in ways that feel fresh, unexpected, and exciting. Somewhat of a rebellion against ‘adult’ interior design schemes.'

Clearly 2026 is the time to be bold. Reject old ideas of neutrality and quiet design in favor of more characterful, cocooning spaces. Now that we know Pamela Anderson is on board, so are we.
