Network 10 Cancels The Amazing Race Australia For 2026 Due To ‘Several Factors’

Sorry, reality fans: The Amazing Race has officially been scrapped for 2026. In a major blow for fans of the show, Network 10 has confirmed it won’t be back this year, despite teasing it to advertisers at an industry event in late 2025.

For folks who’ve yet to feast their eyes on the rollercoaster that is The Amazing Race, Network 10’s version of the show — hosted by Beau Ryan — follows a bunch of celebrities as they embark on a series of challenges across the globe.

It’s wholesome, it’s nail-biting and it definitely has its funny moments, especially if you have a pair of hilarious comedians in the cast, like last year’s Luke and ‘Sassy’ Scott O’Halloran.

Is The Amazing Race Australia happening in 2026?

Unfortunately, this year’s helping of The Amazing Race has come to a halt, with a Network 10 spokesperson telling PEDESTRIAN.TV “it will not be a part of our 2026 program schedule”.

“We’ve been working on another brilliant new season of The Amazing Race Australia, but due to several factors, including travel logistics, it will not be part of our 2026 program schedule,” they told P.TV.

The network adds that the reality TV travel shebang “is a huge show to plan, produce and shoot”, and if you add in the international locations, it could be quite the doozy to create. However, don’t fret, the show has only been “rested”, not cancelled.

The spokesperson also confirmed that Beau will remain a part of the Network 10 family.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the former NRL player emphasised how important it was to “get it right” when it comes to The Amazing Race.

“It’s a job that I’ve loved since the first day in the role, and it’s something that I get really excited about, but if it means we have to push it back to get the product right in terms of number of eps, correct countries, correct casting, then, so be it,” Beau told the publication.

“I love it at 10, and I love my role and, hopefully, it just means it goes bigger, better and longer.”

TV Tonight reports that 10 only made the decision to scrap The Amazing Race late yesterday.

In last year’s season, Bernard and Stephen Curry clutched the $100,000 cash prize for their chosen charity, One in Five, an organisation that raises funds to “support and accelerate” research into mental health for better treatments and cures.

However, 2025’s season was also marred by behind-the-scenes controversy. Before the show aired, Ant and Dan Middleton were disqualified over an alleged homophobic incident involving the O’Halloran brothers.

While the show was still airing, Scott and Luke opened up about the alleged incident to the Sydney Confidential, claiming Dan “approached us six times, making remarks and gestures that we found homophobic, offensive, intimidatory, and disturbing”.

Dan has yet to speak publicly about the alleged incident. Last year, Ant told P.TV he was unable to speak publicly. “Unfortunately, I’m not at liberty to disclose any information as I had absolutely nothing to do with this situation and due to confidentiality, they’re not allowed to tell me anything,” he said.

So far, there’s no news on when The Amazing Race will come back, but let’s hope it comes back on our screens with a fresh cast in 2027.
