Netflix's Indian Matchmaking hunk rejects 150 marriage offers in 18 months

New Netflix dating show Indian Matchmaking includes a picky bachelor who has turned down a whopping 150 marriage offers in just 18 months.

The new series sees expert Mumabi-based professional matchmaker Sima Taparia attempt to find her clients an ideal match for an arranged marriage.

However, one contestant is certainly not already without plenty of options for potential brides.

Hunky Pradhyuman works with high-value jewellery at his family's jewellery business and designs some too.

"The challenges that come from being an eligible bachelor, I would say, is everyone's expecting a lot from you," says Pradhyuman in the opening episode of the series.

He adds: "My parents are pretty much doing all the thinking when it comes to marriage, because they have different aspirations I would say."

Pradhyuman discussed where his mind was at in regards to securing a wife - and while his parents think their 30-year-old son needs to settle down, he doesn't seem so keen.

He notes: "I meet a lot of people, I travel a lot. But I think it's more of a mindset that, you know, it would be nice to have a partner, but I'm not sure if I wanna get married at this point."

However, his mother Sushma claims that his "eager" family needs action sooner.

She says: "Not just [Pradyuman's parents], the entire family is waiting for the marriage."

Then Sima notes: "It must happen this year."

Sushma adds: "This is the right time as well."

Pradhyuman shows off his design and cooking skills for Sima, clearly excelling at creativity.

The bachelor is clearly an ideal match for any wannabe brides, but we don't know how much until his father Chand points out the number of marriage offers Pradhyuman has received.

His father Chand then notes: "We've received 150 offers within a year and a half for Pradhyuman.

"We have met three or four girls and Pradhyuman must have met five or six.

"We haven't liked anyone yet."

Sima notes that it is imperative that Pradhyuman meets potential matches in person and not refuse based on photographs.

She concludes: "Things won't work without the parents' guidance."

As Sima sets to work on matching, Pradhyuman wants someone on his "wave length" who is mentally and physically attractive, willing to grow and have their flaws fixed, and be compatible with his family.

That's all any of us want, right?

We'll have to wait and see if Pradhyuman meets his match.

Indian Matchmaking is available now on Netflix.
