As he looks to shape his squad ahead of the new season, he has taken Davidson on trial.
The teenage central defender played 10 times for Celtic's B side last campaign across the Lowland League and UEFA Youth League.
The three-year deal he signed with the club in 2022 expired this summer, and Dunfermline have moved quickly to secure his services.
He turned out as a trialist for the club in a 3-1 friendly victory over Kelty Hearts on Saturday.
Lennon was quizzed on Davidson post-match: "We’re hoping to [sign him] yeah," he said [dafc.co.uk].
"We’re in the discussion with his agents at the minute, so I’m hoping that won’t take too long."
Young Celtic goalkeeper Tobi Oluwayemi spent last season on loan at Dunfermline from Celtic.
One of their key players, Ewan Otoo, also came through the ranks at Parkhead before moving to Fife.
