Celtic boss Neil Lennon has revealed planning for next season has already started and that he’s still to meet incoming chief executive Dominic McKay.
The Hoops boss is also in the dark about the possible arrival of a director of football being recruited as he continues daily briefing with Peter Lawwell.
The Rugby chief operating office will officially get down to work in July as he plots a comeback bid with rivals Rangers nearing their first title in a decade.
Embattled Lennon has faced calls from his own supporters to walk away after a nightmare season but the Irishman remains in place.
And the 49-year-old admits the current regime already have one eye on the future ahead of McKay taking the reins.
He said: “We’re talking about the team, the present players and Peter planning and putting things in place for the new guy coming in.
"It all begins now. The preparations are ongoing.
“I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself. With Peter leaving, it leaves a big hole on the football and administration side.
“It’s obvious that gap needs to be filled by one or two people. Whether that’s a director of football or another sort of person coming into the building remains to be seen. You’ve already got Dominic coming in. When it comes to contracts and budgets, then that needs to be looked at for next season. I haven’t met Dominic.”
