Neil Lennon opens up on Celtic return as he hails Ange Postecoglou job

Neil Lennon says he would never rule out returning to Celtic for a fourth spell but admits Ange Postecoglou has done a spectacular job since succeeding him.

The former skipper also had two stints as manager and led the club to a quadruple Treble in 2020 before exiting the following February with the title defence in tatters.

Lennon has since managed Omonia Nicosia but has watched with admiration the job his successor has carried out.

He said: “I’ve had a great privilege to manage Celtic over six years in two different stints but at the minute Ange Postecoglou is a great manager doing a great job.

“I’ll never say never to rejoining Celtic but at the moment it’s a long way off.

“Ange does not need any advice at the moment with the job he’s doing. The football they play is spectacular, they have a great mentality as shown in the Old Firm where they got a goal out of nothing.

“The Old Firm game was a pivotal moment in the season, Rangers had to win the game to reduce the nine-point lead Celtic have.

“Going into the second half of the season you’d have to say Celtic are in a really good position for the league title.”
