Neil Lennon gives double Celtic injury boost ahead of Hibs clash

Jeremie Frimpong has escaped ligament damage after suffering an injury against Motherwell prior to the international break.

The Celtic full-back limped off during the 4-1 win at Fir Park after a horror tackle from Devante Cole.

The Parkhead rising star was sent for scans amid fears he could be on the sidelines for a prolonged period of time.

But Neil Lennon has confirmed he is available for the trip to Easter Road on Saturday and has been in full training since the incident.

Speaking about Frimpong, he said: "He’s fine, there's no ligament damage and he's been back training for a few weeks now."

Kris Ajer is also nearing a return after picking up an injury in the 2-2 draw with Lille in the Europa League and should be available for selection againsy Jack Ross' men.

Christopher Jullien, however, is still recovering from a back problem, but is making good progress.

Lennon says the trip to Leith might come too soon for the Frenchman, but he could be in the mix against Sparta Prague on Thursday.

On Jullien, he added: "Maybe not for tomorrow but definitely for next week, whether it be Sparta (Prague) or Ross County in the cup. He has just started training the last few days. He is feeling good but tomorrow is probably too soon for him.

"We’ve got a massive run of games now. It’s good to have a healthy squad, and introduce some players back. If we can pick up where we left off, I’ll be pleased. Tomorrow’s important and it’s a game we’re looking forward to."
