Neil Cox thrilled Nottingham Forest have helped Notts County with new training ground

Neil Cox hopes Notts County can continue to strengthen relations with Nottingham Forest following their training ground deal.

The Reds came to the Magpies’ aid last week as they granted them use of their Holme Road facilities until the end of the season.

The site is expected to be ready for the end of the month with Notts having used Nottingham Trent University as a short-term option since the summer.

The agreement is further proof that Notts' relationship with Forest is on the mend after previous chairman Alan Hardy upset the Reds with some of his social media posts during his reign at Meadow Lane.

But the hierarchy of both clubs have been eager to re-establish a strong bond and Magpies assistant boss Cox said he is looking forward to moving into the new facility.

“It’s absolutely massive for this football club,” he said.

“We needed a training ground and Nottingham Forest have helped us.

“It’s good for both clubs to help each other.

“The players are looking forward to that and in the next couple of weeks we will start heading out there.

“It’s massive for us because in the next couple of weeks we will be spending a lot of time on the training ground.

“It’s good for everybody.”
