Neighbours stars Alan Fletcher and Jackie Woodburne have posed in front of their home on Ramsay Street for a poignant last photo after filming their final scenes there.

It was confirmed earlier this year the long-running Australian soap will air its final episode on August 1 after 37 years.

The Karl Kennedy actor, 65, took to Instagram to share the image of him and Woodburne, who plays his on screen wife Susan Kennedy, stood under the arch in their set home’s garden.

He captioned the snap: “Yesterday was the last day of location for the Kennedy clan. #jackiewoodburne and I have stood under this arch outside 28 Ramsay Street many times over the last 28 years.

“Emotions starting to well up as we finalize filming all together on Friday. Stay tuned. The last episodes are amazing!!!”

He included the hashtag “unmissable drama”.

His post comes amid reports the last ever scene of Neighbours will feature beloved characters Charlene and Scott Ramsay as Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan make their long awaited return after 34 years.

A source told The Sun: "Everyone is gutted the show is coming to an end but they are determined to go out on a high.

"Kylie and Jason have such strong ties to the series they didn’t even think twice about returning.

"The final scene will make fans well up and sees Charlene and Scott return to the street as they declare "we’re home".”

The insider also revealed the show’s ending has been written in a way that would enable it to be rebooted at a later date should the opportunity arise.
